Supplies:

Paint Shop Pro 8 or 9 This was done in 9 but you can use 8
Graphic of your choice or use the one provided here
Mask – bice_rswing (I don’t know who made this wonderful mask)
Filters: FM Tile Tool – blend emboss
Simple – diamond & 4 way average
Optional – Greg’s Factory Output Vol II - poolshadow

Ya ready, then lets get creative.


Magic Wand Settings for this tutorial:

1. Open the graphic you want to use or use the one provided here. Shift D to
Duplicate twice then close your original.

2. Set up your material pallet to your preference. I have selected a light color #e5e2e6 and dark color #403941 the have selected a foreground/background gradient, radial – angle 82/repeats 18. Please note that we will be colorizing the entire image in stages as we go so pick a color you are really crazy about.

3. Activate your main image – Image – add borders (any color not in your graphic)
25 pixels symmetric. Select with your magic wand, flood fill with light color.
Keep selected


4. Effects – Plugins – FM Tile Tool – blend emboss

5. Repeat the FM Tile Tool blend emboss one more time

6. Effects – 3D Effects – Inner Bevel


7. Select None

8. Right click on the background layer on your layer pallet - New Raster Layer. Food fill this layer with the same color you used on your 25 pixel border.

9. With your raster 1 Layer Highlighted, Layers, Load/Save Mask – Load Mask from Disk – find the bice_rswing mask and load

9. Right click on the group layer and merge group.

10. With the Group Layer highlighted – Effects – 3D Effects – Drop Shadow


11. Repeat the drop shadow one more time.

12. Right click on the layer pallet – Merge Visible


13. Adjust – Hue Saturation – Colorize

14. Image – Add Borders – 5 pixels. Select with magic wand & flood fill with the
gradient. Keep Selected.

15. Selections Invert - Image – Effects – 3D Effects – Cutout.


16. Repeat Cutout Changing V to (-2) and H to (-2) DESELECT

17. Image – Add Borders – 2 pixel – flood fill with dark color DESELECT

18. Repeat Cutout Step 15 & 16

19. Image – Add Borders – 25 pixels. Flood fill with the dark color. Keep Selected

20. Effects – Plugins – Simple – Diamonds Keep Selected

21. Effects – Plugins – Simple – 4 way average DESELECT

22. Add 5 pixel border (any color NOT in your graphic)flood fill with gradient Invert Selection - Repeat Cutout Steps 15 & 16.

23. Add 2 pixel border – flood fill with dark color. DESELECT

24. Add 5 pixel border – flood fill with gradient
Invert Selection – Repeat Cutout Steps 15 & 16

25. For a more artistic effect – Image – Effects – Plugins – Greg’s Factory Output – Vol II - apply poolshadow

Resize for your project. Adjust brightness if you want it brighter
