Snow Family

Filters: SuperBladePro, Simple - Diamons, Simple - 4 Way Average.

This tutorial was written in PSP9 but should work in earlier versions.

Unzip SnowFamily.zip. Place the jbgold and DuoTone Red gradients into your gradients folder in My PSP Files. You may already have DuoTone Red if you are using PSP8 or PSP9. Use DuotoneRed.jpg if you are using earlier versions of PSP. Open the cccsnowfamily tube and minimize for later use. Open Dubarry.ttf and minimize for later use. Open jb-gold2.jpg to use in place of the gradient if you are using PSP7 or earlier. Unzip the wesubduedgold zip to your superbladepro environments folder. Place the hollyberries and candle mask into your My PSP Files Masks folder.

I have been collecting these PSP supplies for a long time now and I sadly do not know where many of them came from. If you know where any of these supplies orginated from, please let me know so I can give proper credit! Thanks!

Ok, now let's have some fun!

1. Open a new transparent image 500 x 500 and flood fill with the gradient Duotone Red, style - linear, angle - 319, repeats - 3.

2. Add a new layer and floodfill with Green, color #4b654b.

3. Open the hollyberries mask and minimize. On working image - add new mask layer from image.

4. Merge Group.

5. Hide the bottom layer and then duplicate the merged layer 5-6 times (or more or less depending on how dark you prefer it.) Merge visible.

6. With merged layer active, Select all || Float || Defloat.

7. Effects || Plugins || SuperBladePro - wesubduedgold.

8. Apply drop shadow.

9. Unhide the bottom layer and make it active.

10. Copy and paster the cccsnowfamily tube as a new selection on your working image and position it where it looks best to you. DO NOT DESELECT.

11. Apply inner bevel.

12. Deselect and apply same drop shadow as above.

13. With forground set to null and background set to jb-gold2, Apply your text with the following settings.

14. Position text where you like it and then convert to raster layer. Apply same drop shadow as above and merge visible.

15. Adjust || Brightness and Contrast || Calrify - 2.

16. Add a symmetric 5 pixel border, select with magic wand and flood fill with green color #4b654b. Invert selection and apply cutout.

17. Repeat cutout changing V/H both to -2. Deselect.

18. Add 20 pixel symmetric border and select with magic wand. Flood fill with jb-gold2.

19. Effects || Plugins || Simple - diamonds.

20. Effects || Plugins || Simple - 4 Way Average. Deselect. Resize to your liking - I resized 70% Bicubic.

21. Add 5 pixel symmetric border and select with magic wand. Flood fill with green.

22. Invert select and apply same cuts as steps 16 and 17.
