Supplies: Paint Shop Pro 8 or 9 This was done in 9 but you can use 8 Tube of your choice Filters: Mehdi - Kaleidoscope OR VM Distortion – Kaleidoscope (I Used the Mehdi for the sample in this tutorial) Krusty’s FX Vol 11-2.0 Generator A-1 Eye Eye Candy 3.1 – Perspective Shadow A big thank you to the person who made this tube. Note: The results of this tutorial will turn out differently each time. Open the tube you want to use, Shift D to Duplicate then close your original. This tutorial is only a guide. Please have fun & experiment Magic Wand Settings for this tutorial:
1 .Set up your material pallet by selecting a light color from your graphic (I used #002942 & a dark color (#000000).
2. File – new 350 x 350 transparent
3. Right click on your layer pallet – New raster layer – name it tube – Make sure
This tube layer pallet is active by clicking on it which will highlight it.. 4. Click on your tube to activate it – Edit, Copy, Paste as New Selection onto your transparent file. With your move tool, center the tube. Effects – 3D Effects – Drop Shadow:
Repeat using the same settings but changing the V/H to -3 / -3 5. Right click on your tube layer in the layer pallet – Duplicate. You now have a copy of the tube layer. Deactivate the copy of tube layer by clicking on the eye. This is what you should have in your layer pallet:
6. Active the tube layer by clicking on it (it will be highlighted now). Effects – Distortion Effects – Polar Coordinates. – Rectangle to Polar – Transparent. Center the image with your mover tool
7. Effects – Mehdi – Kaleidoscope: This is what I used for this sample of this tutorial but the VM works nicely too
OR you can use VM Distortion – Kaleidoscope
8. Effects – Krusty’s FX Vol II -2.0 Generator A-1 Eye
9. Activate the Copy of Tube layer by clicking the eye – the red x will disappear. Highlight this layer – you will now see your tube. If it needs centered – use your mover tool & center it. Effects – Eye Candy 3.1 – Perspective Shadow:
10. Right click on your layer pallet – Layers – Merge All Flatten
11. Image – Add Borders (symmetric) 2 pixels black Image – Add Borders (symmetric) 2 pixels color #002942 Image – Add Borders (symmetric) 2 pixels black 12. Selections – Select All – Selections Modify – Contract 6 pixels. Effects -3D Cutout:
Repeat cutout using V/H at 2 / 2 13. Image – Add Borders – 30 pixels white – Select with Magic Wand – Repeat Krusty’s with the same settings as in Step 8 – Do Not Deselect 14. Effects – Geometric – Perspective Vertical – Distortion - Distortion set at -35 Color – Transparent – Do Not Deselect 15. Selections Invert - Repeat Cutout the same as in Step 12 16. Selections – Modify – Expand by 1 pixel – Repeat Drop Shadow as in Step 4 – Deselect. It was my preference to crop the excess light teal on the bottom of the image. 17. Image – Add Borders (symmetric) 2 pixels black Image – Add Borders (symmetric) 2 pixels color #35ddd0 Image – Add Borders (symmetric) 2 pixels black 18. Select All – Selections – Modify – Contract 4 pixels Selections – Invert Apply Cutout as in Step 12 Changing the Color to Black Add your text - Resize to suit your project. .
