Paint Shop Pro 8, 9 or X (this was done using V9)

Tube Supplied or Tube of Your Choice

Ready to make the tag background? J Enjoy & have fun.

 

  • Open your tube & minimize.
  • Set your magic wand settings as follows

  • File – New – 450 x 500 Transparent.
  • Set your material pallet - foreground color #aa141f, background #101b46 or a contrasting light & dark color from your tube. Now change your background to the foreground/background gradient by clicking on the gradient tab then the window & scrolling until you find the foreground/background gradient set to angle 107 repeats 0 Invert Checked. You material pallet will now look like this:

  • Using your flood fill tool fill the 450 X 500 file with the gradient by right clicking with the tool over your file.
  • Effects – Plugins – Psychosis – Circular Streaker- Streaks 25
  • Effects – Plugins – Olivers – Tunnel – Intensite 10
  • Effects – Plugins – Tramages – Tow The Line – settings 80 – 54 - 48 – 9

 

  • Effects – Plugins – Mirror Rave – Quadrant Flip settings 133 120 125 122

  • Adjust Brightness & Contrast Brightness minus 154 Contrast minus 23

If you want to use your background for a template for another project, Shift D to duplicate & save the duplicated copy for later use.

  • Activate the Lovers tube by clicking on it. Edit- Copy- Paste as a new layer on the background you just made. With the mover tool move your tube toward the center bottom (see completed tag). Right click on either raster layer (Normally located under your material pallet unless you have your docking settings set up differently) & merge all flatten.
  • Effects – Plugins – BorderMania (NRV BorderMania) Ellipse settings 100 – 38 – 83 – 0 – 55

  • Image – Add Borders – 5 pixels symmetric – black (or your dark color). Effects – Plugins – BorderMania – Soft Color #1 – settings 65 – 144 – 92 notch corners checked

  • Image – Add Borders – 10 pixels symmetric – white (or your light color). With your selection tool select the inside of your border. You will see marching ants within the border. Change your background back to color by hitting the color tab (solid black circle on your material pallet). Left click with the magic wand tool inside the white border then using your flood fill tool, fill the border with the background color (black or dark color).
  • Effects - Texture – Blinds. Width 3 Opacity 56 Light from left/top Checked Color #5e0000. Selections – Select None.

  • Image – Plugins – Border Mania – Frame 2 – settings 4 – 24 – 110 – 230 Bevel & Notch Corners Checked

  • Image – Add Borders 3 pixels symmetric – black. Add text, accents, corners or whatever you want to add to make this creation uniquely your own.

Hope you have enjoyed this tutorial & will do further experimenting with filters. You can create some unique & super effects with just pushing a few buttons.
