Tutorial Dedicated to our PSP Misfits – The best group ever!!!!

Are you ready?? – This is a long one so grab a

Supplies Here:

Paint Shop Pro 9 but should be able to be done in 8

Tubes of your choice or use the tubes supplied created by a very talented lady, Dottie.

Gradients: Dutone lavender

Dutone light blue

Mask: Kris-27

Brush @bc newsprint1

Filters: Filter Factory A – Pool Shadow

Import the brush into you PSP brush folder. Place the tubes & mask in the folder of your choice, the gradients in your PSP Gradient folder. CHECK to make sure you don’t already have the mask & gradients because if you have duplicates, PSP will not recognize them & none of them will work.

NOTE: When resizing be sure to resize using bicubic & 90% each time to avoid quality loss of tubes and/or graphics.

Set your materials - foreground Dutone Light Blue Gradient (or light gradient) – linear, angle 32 repeats, 0, Invert Checked

Background Dutone Lavender Gradient (or dark gradient) – Same settings, Invert UNchecked

Open your tubes – Shift D to duplicate & close the originals

On the Let There Be Peace Tube -

Image- Grayscale

Image – Increase Color Depth to 16 Million

Image - Mirror

Set both tubes aside

4. File – New – 500 x 350 transparent & flood fill by right clicking with background

gradient (dark)

5. Layers – New Raster Layer - & flood fill by left clicking with the foreground gradient

(light)

6. Layers – Load/Save Mask/Load Mask from Disk – Find the Kris-27 mask. Settings:

7. Right click the Mask Raster 2 on your layer pallet & Merge Group

8. Effects – Reflection Effects – Rotating Mirror Settings Horizontal (minus) -3 Rotation Angle 0 – Edge Mode Reflect . With your mover tool move the mask image into the center.

9. Close off the visibility of this layer by Xing out the eye on the layer pallet.

Highlight Raster 1 by clicking on it – it will now be blue & active

Raster 1 is now active - Effects – Texture Effects – Blinds – Settings Width 3

Opacity 28 Horizontal & Light from left/top Checked

11. Effects – Plugins – Filter Factory A Pool Shadow:

12 Activate the visibility on Group-Raster Layer 2 by clicking the eye removing the X, then click on Group-Raster 2 to highlight.

Effects – 3D Effects – Drop Shadow

Vertical & Horizontal 1 / Opacity 100/ Blur 1/ Color #87668C (Or the darkest color of your dark gradient). Repeat changing only the V/H to minus 1 (-1)

Set the blend mode of this layer to luminance & lower the opacity to 32:

Right Click on the layer pallet & Merge Visible .

Layers – New Raster Layer.

Select your Paint Brush Tool & find the @bc newsprint1 brush – position the brush on the upper left hand side , left click (light color) on your image twice:

Set the blend mode to Luminance – Opacity 72.

Activate the Let There Be Peace Tube, Edit, Copy & Paste as New Layer on the left hand mid-lower side of the main image.

Adjust – Softness – Soften Set the Blend Mode to Luminance & Opacity at 52

Layers – Merge All Flatten

Activate the Lady Tube , Edit, Copy & Past as New Layer on the right side of the main image, center to your preference

Adjust – Hue & Saturation – Hue Saturation & Brightness

Hue 3 Saturation minus (-)54 Lightness 57

Layers Merge All Flatten

24. Selections – Select All – Selections Modify – Contract 3 pixels

Effects – 3D Effects – Drop Shadow

V/H 1 Opacity 100 Blur 0 Color Black

Repeat with the same settings 3 more times changing the V/H to

-1 / -1

-1/ 1

1/ -1

Select None.

Resize your image – (bicubic- lock aspect ratio & all layers checked) to the size you need for your project.
