Supplies:
Paint Shop Pro 8 or
9
Tube: KJM-Celtic Moon Fae (Thanks for the tube KJM)
Pattern: bmft pattern
Filters: VM Distortion – origami radial folder
Eye Candy 3.01 – perspective shadow
Greg’s Factory Output Vol 2 – pool shadow
Magic Wand Settings
for this tutorial:
1. Open the tube
you want to use or use this one. Shift D to Duplicate then
close
your original.
2. Open the bmft
pattern file & minimize so that you can add it to the
material pallet
3. Set the background
color to a dark color from the tube (I used 58677c) &
the foreground to the pattern you minimizied earlier scale
set to 100.
3. Open a new file 500 x 500 transparent.
4. Flood fill with
the background color (dark color you selected from your tube)
5. Effects –
Plugins – VM Distortion – origami radial folder
6. After applying
the VM Distortion filter, go to Effects – Illumination
– Sunburst
and apply the following settings:
7. Adjust –
Brightness & Contrast – Clarify @ 4. Repeat this
step one more time.
8. Adjust –
Brightness & Contrast – Brightness @ 31 Contrast
@ -22
9. Resize your tube by 85 – bicubic, lock aspect ration
& all layers checked.
10. Activate your
tube and copy and paste as a new layer on your new background
Image. Your tube should now be on raster layer 2. Move the
tube with your
mover tool & place it where it looks good to you.
11. With raster layer
2 highlighted (your tube layer ) Adjust – brightness
& contrast -Carity set at 4
12. Still on raster
2 (your tube layer) Effects – Plugins – Eyecandy
3.01 –
Perspective shadow with these settings:
13. Remaining on raster
2 (your tube layer) Effects – 3 D Effects – Inner
Bevel:
14. Repeat the Inner Bevel with the same settings as above
one more time.
15. Highlight the background layer to make it active
16. With your selection
tool set to rectangle, select the center of your image all
the way around your image in this position (yes, leave more
on the left hand side).This selection has to be really close
to the screenshot in order to this effect to work. Go to View
- Rulers To help with the line up of this selection.
17. With this selection
go to Effects – 3D Effects Drop Shadow:
18. Repeat this step
3 more times changing only the Vertical & Horizontal
Second time V -3 H 3
Third time V 3 H 3
Forth time V -3 H -3
19. Selections –
Modify – Expand by 3 pixels
20. Selections –
Invert
21. Effects –
Geometric – Perspective Horizontal & Set the Distortion
level at 45 - Color Black
22. SELECT NONE
23. With the magic
wand tool select the black part of the image and fill the
center right black bar with the pattern: Leave the top &
bottom black sections for later. To select all the black parts
of the image, hold down your shift key while using the magic
wand.
24. DO NOT DESELECT
25. Effects –
3D Effects - Outer Bevel
26. Apply the Same
Outer Bevel again EXCEPT set the angel @ 173
27. Selections –
Modify – Contract by 15 pixels
28. Flood fill this
selection with the pattern. DO NOT DESELECT
29. Effects –
3 D Effects – Inner Bevel the same as Step 12 &
Step 13
30. Selections –
Modify – Expand by 6 pixels
31. Effects –
3 D Effects – Drop Shadow the same as in Step 17&
18 EXCEPT change the color to bdd2f2. Total applications of
Drop Shadow when finished will be 4 just as you previously
did.
32. SELECT NONE
33. Keeping the background
layer active in your layer pallet, Effects – Plugins
– Greg’s Factory Output Vol 2 – Pool Shadow:
34. Right click on
your layer pallet and merge visible.
Resize to your tag
requirements. Bicubic – aspect ration & all layers
checked. If you add
text don’t forget to add it on a new layer. Is much
easier to delete a layer then to use the
undo function ?
